5 Question Friday

 1. What is a hobby you would love to learn and why?
I have a lot of hobbies I do now, like crochet, photography, and music, but I would really love to learn to decorate cakes. Not just normal homemade cakes like anyone can do, but with the fondant and fancy stuff! I think it looks so neat!

2. What do you wish you could have delivered to your house but does not deliver?
Oh definitely Chinese/Japanese food! I feel so lazy because I live like two blocks away from my favorite Hibachi grill, but MAN, if they would deliver It'd be on [food] cloud nine! Haha

3. What's your favorite snow day activity? Inside and out?
Sledding. I've only ACTUALLY gone sledding once when I was little, because here in Alabama we don't really get enough snow to do anything. A couple of years ago we got a pretty big snow for us where we were snowed in and we tried going down the hill with trash lids... It didn't work too well lol.

4. Would you meet a stranger from an Internet dating site?
Probably not. I don't judge anyone who does because I know for some people it works, I just don't think I'd be comfortable not knowing enough about someone because I didn't know them a while before hand.

5. If you had to spend 35 hours in a car with 4 other people, who would you choose?
Welllll, of course my Husband would be #1. As far as 3 other people, it's hard to pick, I have so many family members that I could be with for so long without complaining! But as long as I can sleep and have snacks, I don't think I would have very much of a problem! Especially since last month I just spent 6 hours in a van with 5 teenagers... I think that's an accomplishment.

Linen Closet Explosion!

My hubby and I have lived in our house for almost 4 years now, and my linen closet has given me a headache everyday I've had to look in there. We have some guests coming to stay soon and I didn't want anyone else having to get lost in the mess of a closet trying to get a towel. I'm super embarrassed to even show you the before picture because it's so bad!
First of all, I had to get all the paint and stuff out of there from The Great Kitchen Painting of 2011 that had no business being in a linen closet! This is also the main closet to the bathroom, so I had things that had to stay. I went out looking for storage baskets I could use for the other items that were staying but needed to be hidden. I found these really cute brown canvas baskets that had places for labels so I printed some cutesy labels for a little more organization!

*Feel free to print these labels for your own use!*
Now that I had all these awesome organizational tools, I just needed to straighten up the towels and move in the blankets (hints to the linen closet, it should have some of my many horded blankets! I have a blanket problem!!). I didn't want blankets touching the floor of the closet because we have original hardwood floors, but the inside of the closets have not been done in a really long time. Because I don't have time to sand and stain the closet floor, I went with a simple and cheap fix. I have left over peel and stick tiles that were used in the bathroom, so I used them in the closet! So now I just had to piece it all together!

Easy DIY Decor Pillows

So, on my last clearance run at Target, I saw that almost all the kitchen linens were on clearancing out from the winter season and one of the napkin patterns matched my bedspread EXACTLY!!

They came in a pack of 4 for only $2.88! I knew I could make them cute little pillows for a little more accent on the bed since my set didn't come with any. I went to a hobby store and bought two pillows just for using as decor (and I had a coupon which makes everything cheap!). The napkins had seams already which would have been great for me not to have to do..... but the pillows I bought were a little too small, so I ended up having to cut them a little. They were still perfect squares so I didn't really have to measure anything. I just sewed three sides, put the pillows in, and sewed up the last side.

I love how they contrast the bed, and they even look like they're made of the same material! So don't pass up good clearance, you could turn it into something great!
